Where is the best place in London to get a sandwich

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Lunch is a very important meal, some say that you should eat like a prince for lunch, but whatever and however much you eat, where is your favourite eatery?

Lunch can get very boring, soggy sandwiches made the evening before with plastic cheese and rubber ham…but there are many delights out there which are yet to be discovered, so many sandwich shops and so little time.

However, I don’t want to limit this to just sandwich shops, what about salads, sushi, burgers or maybe you only eat organic?

Well I am going to kick off with my recommendation, Scotts sandwich bar in Covent Garden. This place is truly a lunch time treat. If you have a tough morning and you need something to brighten your day, visit Scotts. The sandwiches are enormous, with a selection of fillings and breads. My personal favourites are chicken, mushroom, ham, salad and mayonnaise on Foccacia or even better Salt Beef. The Salt Beef is succulent and really does melt in your mouth! The service is great and really friendly, but be warned the queue at lunch time goes out of the door and right down the street and the Salt Beef never lasts after 2pm. For sarnies, salads or jackets i’d go to Scotts!

Rebatos, Tapas Heaven

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Behind the dark well stickered door, there lies a tapas heaven - authenticly Spanish waiters and delicious varied seasonal food and drink. There is a formal restaurant at the back, but for me the best atmosphere is at the front, around the bar or at the little tables. Many a delicious meal was had.
