Borough Market, one of London’s oldest and most prestigious food markets, sees the introduction of Asian Chef Angela Malik from 21st January 2010. Angela has succeeded in entering the Borough Market with her delicious selection of sauces, mixes and chutneys, a testament to her abundant skill and the high quality of her produce.
Angela’s innovative approach to cooking has taken London by storm with the introduction of her Acton based cookery school. She shows her students how to expand their culinary skills and try the unexplored: demystifying Thai food, and mastering Dim Sum. Angela, having studied at the Leith’s School of Cookery, has a high level of experience enabling her to share and teach her knowledge to a high standard. She has a passion for cooking and believes it shouldn’t be complicated. Her concept is based on an amalgamation of Eastern flavours and British food, making it exciting and innovative. Her decision to bottle her idea and sell it has proved a great success, showing that you don’t have to be an experienced chef to enjoy fantastic flavours.
If you would like to find out more about Angela and her food philosophy, check out Angela’s classes. They are all about having fun and learning new things. They are fully interactive, ensuring participants can go home and experiment again and again, and at the end of the day you can relax with a glass of wine and eat the delicious food you have just made.

Congratulations to Clerkenwell’s Coach and Horses for winning “Best Wine Pub” at the Harpers Drinking Out Excellence Awards 2010.
When Colette Webster and husband Giles bought the Coach and Horses in 2003 they were looking to host a good honest boozer with great food and a challenging and interesting wine list. 7 years later and they have won Harpers Wine and Spirits award for the Best Wine Pub at the Drinking Out Excellence Awards 2010.
Host Nigel Barden said “the Coach and Horses have won because the list is small, but perfectly formed, being full of reasonably priced and exciting gems from around the world. Collette Webster should feel justifiably proud of herself for putting together such a list.”
A complete novice to the world of wine Colette embraced her passion when the couple re-opened the Coach and Horses. Learning from books, tastings and industry shows and events, Collette has developed and created the award winning list.
Colette comments “we are delighted and pleased in particular for all our loyal wine drinking customers!”
The Coach and Horses were up against the Yew Tree in Gloucestershire and General Tarleton in North Yorkshire at the award ceremony hosted at the Soho House Hotel, London this week.
